Multi Communications supports ElektroEko in collection of electro-wast

16.05.2012

Until May 31st all the residents of Warsaw will have the chance to get rid of large and heavy electro-waste for free. Throughout the whole May a special hotline will be open to the public enabling you to settle the date when your Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) can be collected. The project has been initiated and implemented by ElektroEko – the largest waste equipment recycling organization in Poland. Multi Communications is responsible for communicating the event to the public.

According to the applicable law, all electro-waste (i.e. broken or unwanted equipment powered by electricity of batteries, such as computers, fluorescent lamps, hairdryers etc.) should be returned to special collection points. Leaving such equipment in an inappropriate place (e.g. in a trash can/waste container, leaving it outside an apartment building or e.g. abandoning it in the woods) is punishable by fine of up to PLN 5000.

In order to solve the problem of large and heavy electro-waste the equipment recycling organization ElektroEko decided to collect the used equipment directly from the residents of Warsaw. All you need to do is call 801 011 180 between 10am and 4pm (your operator's rates apply) and settle an hour and date when your electro-waste will be collected. You can find out more about the project on www.elektrosmieci.pl

The success of the project depends considerably on the proper communication with the Warsaw residents. This is precisely the task that has been entrusted to Multi Communications, who has been cooperating with ElektroEko for seven years now. During that time Multi Communications has been supporting its client in the field of corporate PR activities and organized on behalf of ElektroEko the following educational campaigns: “Każdy uczeń wie, co zrobić z ZSEE” (Every pupil knows where the WEEE goes), “Elektrośmieci? Przynieś z mieszkania do punktu zbierania!” (Electro-waste? Bring them to the collection point!) and “Masz ZUŻYTĄ ŚWIETLÓWKĘ? Wrzuć ją do pojemnika z tym znakiem!” (Do you have a used fluorescent lamp? Throw it into a container marked with this sign!).
